iHome has unveiled more info about the new speaker system, which is compatible with Apple’s AirPlay technology introduced earlier this week. This new technology replaces Apple’s venerable AirTunes technology. It allows not only audio but also videos, photos and metadata to be transmitted to other AirPlay-enabled devices. The AirPlay will also be available on iOS devices with the release of iOS 4.2 in November, allowing media content to be streamed to AirPlay receivers from an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
